This San Francisco based band formed after Tobin Mori’s previous group Korea Girl broke up. Assembling a small core of musicians, Ee began recording its debut album in the fall of 1999. Ee’s debut album Ramadan on Currycore Records. But by the spring of 2000, musical differences resulted in the group being dramatically reshaped. Ee added bass player Che Chou and drummer Peter Nguyen. An original member of Total Shutdown, Nguyen gave the band a larger, bombastic sound. Sooyoung Park, who was the lead singer of Chicago band Seam, moved to San Francisco and became Ee’s secondary guitar player. After touring throughout the United States, Ee released a four-song EP Tinyspot on Asian Man Records in April 2002. A three-week American tour followed. In the fall of 2002, Ee released its second album For 100 We Try Harder on Asian Man Records. ~ Jason MacNeil
